Self portrait, 2019

It all begins with an idea.

Brian Mayer, the dynamic owner and founder of Ninetails Productions, has been a passionate storyteller through images and film since his early years. Growing up in the scenic Poconos of Pennsylvania, Brian's fascination with photography began in grade school, capturing the natural beauty around him with a keen eye. His love for movies was sparked by a memorable childhood experience watching Monsters, Inc., a moment that ignited his desire to delve into the world of visual storytelling.

In January 2016, Brian enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he not only served with distinction but also pursued his passion for emergency medical services, becoming a nationally registered EMT while stationed in Okinawa. Balancing his military duties with his creative aspirations, he began a photography business in 2019. This venture allowed him to hone his skills and explore his artistic vision, setting the foundation for his future endeavors.

Following the completion of his service and a move to Florida in April 2024, Brian rebranded his photography business into Ninetails Productions, merging his dual passions for photography and filmmaking. Today, Brian combines his military discipline with his creative expertise to produce captivating visual content. In his free time, he enjoys playing online video games with still-active and veteran Marine Corps comrades, indulging in books, and keeping up with the latest films in theaters, always seeking inspiration for his next project.

Brian Mayer's journey in photography began with humble tools—his point-and-shoot cameras and cell phone. These early captures, though simple, were the foundation of his burgeoning passion for visual storytelling. Recognizing the potential to elevate his craft, Brian invested in a Nikon D5600 and a selection of lenses in 2019, marking a significant step forward in his photographic pursuits. This upgrade enabled him to explore more advanced techniques and achieve higher-quality results. By May 2024, Brian further refined his gear by upgrading to the Sony a7iii, which now serves as his primary camera. This latest addition enhances his creative capabilities, allowing him to push the boundaries of his work and continue delivering exceptional imagery through Ninetails Productions.
